    Description Travel across the sandy desert plains towards the 36 majestic domes of Kata Tjuta (Olgas) stopping along the way at a lookout to admire the panoramic view of the southern side of Kata Tjuta. Continue on to arrive at the base of Walpa Gorge. Take the walking trail through Walpa Gorge and follow the natural creek between two of the largest domes at Kata Tjuta and explore the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. In the late afternoon travel to the Uluru (Ayers Rock) sunset viewing area. Witness the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset while enjoying a glass of wine. Return to Ayers Rock Resort.

    Description Travel from Ayers Rock Resort to Kings Canyon, stopping for breakfast at Kings Creek Station (own expense) along the way. Make the rocky climb to the rim of the canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park. Follow the rim of the canyon stopping to look down into the canyon gorge at look-out points. Time permitting, stop at the green oasis of the "Garden of Eden". The circuit walk takes approximately 3 hours to complete and is rocky and steep in parts. It is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. Alternatively an easier, shorter walk to explore the boulder strewn canyon floor is available. After lunch (own expense) at Kings Canyon Resort, return to Ayers Rock Resort.

  • Tour Name Uluru Sunrise and Guided Cultural Base Walk

    Description Rise early this morning to travel to the sunrise viewing area at the eastern end of Uluru. Watch the first rays of dawn set Uluru and the Red Centre alight whilst enjoing a warming cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. After sunrise, travel by coach to Kuniya Piti, an Aboriginal sacred site at the base of Uluru. Join a guided 1 hour walk to the Mutitjulu Waterhole, viewing the natural features of the landscape, Aboriginal paintings and listening to traditional Aboriginal stories relating to this special place. Experience the sheer size of Uluru as the guide explains the geological formation, Aboriginal history and the flora and fauna unique to this area. on arrival at the Mutitjulu Waterhole pause to take in the tranquility of the surrounds. Travel by coach around the base of Uluru before reaching kantju Gorge, where after rainfall, water can cascade over the side of Uluru and plunge some 90 metres to the ground. From here the Mala Walk commences. Explore one of the most important habitation areas for the Aboriginal people for over thousands of years. Morning tea is provided by your guide. There an oportunity to visit the Uluru - Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre and to view and purchase locally made Aboriginal souvenirs. All tour participants will receive an Uluru Base walker's Certificate.

    Description Your vehicle will pick you up from your hotel to commence a full day Cave Hill tour. This tour is an Indigenous cultural experience that provides an insight into everyday Aboriginal life. Journey by 4WD and travel deep into the desert of the Pitjantjatjara Lands of Central Australia, driving past the formidable Mount Conner, the third largest monolith of the Red Centre. On arrival you will be greeted by an Anangu host. The Anangu are the traditional owners of Cave Hill, which is the site of the Seven Sisters Thukurpa (creation time), a story that has been maintained since the beginning of time. View magnificent cave paintings, where the drama of the Seven Sisters creation story is illustrated on the ceiling of the cave. Later walk to the top of Cave Hill to admire a 360-degree panoramic view of the surrounding countryside, including Uluru 100 kms away, Mount Conner and the imposing Musgrave Ranges. Discuss Tjukurpa and the Songlines and learn their relevance to Anangu life in the desert, and learn of traditional food gathering and the preparation of desert bush tucker. After lunch return to Ayers Rock Resort. Tour concludes at approximately 16:00, at which time hotel drop offs will commence.

    Description Your vehicle will pick you up from your hotel to commence an afternoon Mt Conner Outback 4WD tour. Mt Conner is the third of the great monoliths and is situated 100 kilometres east of Uluru on a vast, fully operational, privately owned cattle station called Curtin Springs Station. While the dams on the property were constructed for watering cattle, here you will find the perfect natural habitat for red kangaroos, rock wallabies and a vast array of birds and reptiles of the Red Centre. Discover an ancient inland salt lake and learn about the European history of the region. Whilst enjoying a glass of sparkling wine, be captivated by the spectacular changing colours of sunset over Mt Conner before returning to Ayers Rock Resort where you will enjoy a three-course home cooked dinner prepared by the station cook at Curtin Springs Station homestead.
